Submissions

We accept submissions on a rolling basis from contributors working in remote or underserved locations. Before submitting, please listen to a representative selection of recently published material to gauge our editorial focus.

A submission should include:

• A short letter describing the recording, the location, the equipment, and your reasons for making it.
• The material itself, as 24-bit WAV or FLAC, transferred via the secure link we will provide.
• Optionally, a brief biography and any other recordings you would like considered.

Write in the first instance to submissions@hinterland-archive.example. We answer every submission within fourteen days; almost half are eventually published in some form. A standard production stipend of €450 accompanies each published recording.

Sustaining listeners

Sustaining listeners pay £4 per month or £40 per year. This funds approximately 80% of our annual operating budget. Sustaining listeners receive:

• Access to the high-fidelity stream (FLAC, 96 kHz / 24-bit) in addition to the standard stream.
• Quarterly listening sessions in person (Stockholm, Prague) and online.
• A printed annual programme, hand-bound, posted in December.
• The reassuring knowledge that you are paying for a thing that should exist.

Press and licensing

Write to press@hinterland-archive.example for press enquiries, interview requests, or licensing questions. For commercial licensing specifically, please include the intended use, the duration of use, the recording catalogue number(s) you have in mind, and your budget. We respond to commercial enquiries within a week.
